2023.02.03 05:31 TheSurvivorBuff Notes with Dr. Bonnie Jacobs

A huge amount of documents were recently unsealed by Fairfax and made available to the public by request and purchase. This includes Amber's treatment notes with Dr. Bonnie Jacobs from 2011-2014.
It is extremely important to me that this information be made public in a respectful way. Obviously I am not the only person capable of purchasing the court documents but, as of now, it seems I'm the only one who has done so and feel a certain amount of responsibility in sharing them first. Amber moved to admit these notes into evidence in the hopes that it would help people understand Johnny's abuse. I hope in sharing them it will have some positive effect.
Here I'll be sharing some of the more insightful/important entries made by Dr. Jacobs.
When Amber first began dating Johnny:
Decided to date J but needs to keep it secret because he just split from partner. Has children boy + girl. Met in various places but always secret and discrete. I questioned her feelings about hiding. Says she understands. Feels he is protecting her. I asked how he treats her. Bought her a horse (white) because she told him as a child dreamed of having one. Loves to ride her horse – needs to be trained so can’t ride it yet. Not happy spending so much time w/ J’s friends. [Illegible] Has talked to him about his drinking and asked him to slow down. He knows about her parents and childhood. Feels sorry for him because his father was also an abusive alcoholic. (Trauma bonding ??) Has scars from beatings. Dad used belts and chains, also burnt him w/ cigarettes. Scars all over body including head. Spending nights together but hide going to and from each other’s homes. Concerned about paparazzi. Says he doesn’t want her blamed for break-up w/ ex because not true.
Amber starts to realize the drinking and substance abuse is really bad in November 2011:
Continuing to see J but becoming more concerned about his drinking and drug use. Sometimes so bad he needs help getting into bed. Pointed out she is enabling him in similar way she enables parents, minus the money. Has only attended 1 Al-anon meeting. Found it helpful but can’t go often because of schedule. Doesn’t know what to do or how to do it. Advised her to stop picking him up or hiding bottles. Also suggested not seeing him if he is drunk or stoned. Feels she can’t do that but will try. He using most of the time so worried she’ll never see him.
Johnny's anger starts to come up. Bonnie Jacobs becomes afraid he is hitting Amber:
[Amber] Afraid to discuss using + drinking because he gets loud and physical. Questioned if he has hit her. Said he only yells and throws things. Discussed Al-anon issues. How difficult but necessary it is for her to take care of herself.
Amber's fraught relationship with her father a running theme:
Parents coming for Thanksgiving, not happy about it. J will be spending time w/ children. Afraid her father will tell people about her and J. Told him not to say anything but doesn’t know what he might do when drunk.
The connection between her father and Johnny is made early by Dr. Jacobs:
More in depth discussion of J’s behavior and ways it parallels her father. Said J has a loving side and dad not so much. Discussed how only the substance abuser can stop him/herself from drinking and using... Can’t force someone to stop using if they don’t want to, and that addicts can’t stop for someone else. Addicts have to stop for themselves. Extremely tearful. Feels she can help him stop using. Wishes she could get friends, bodyguards, and sister to stop supporting and enabling his addictions. Too many people dependent on him for financial support. Asked why she wants to be w/ someone who is addict and behaves badly. Said she loves him and he loves her. Just doesn’t like “bad” J. Recommended Al-anon again.
Police are almost called the third week of December, 2011:
Continued discussing her relationship w/ J. He was extremely drunk when he came to her apt. She was angry. He began screaming and cursing. Argument became so loud that landlord threatened to call the police. Doesn’t know what to do when he is like that. He left. Didn’t hear from him and got worried. Asked if this is relationship she wants? Again tearful and certain she can help him get clean and sober.
Johnny got sober around Christmas:
Going out of town for holidays. Will be gone a couple of weeks. Looking forward to being w/ J and down time. J better but not sure he will stay sober. Discussed more books, [Adult Children of Alcoholics meetings] and Al-anon
Amber gets back from vacation. January 8th, 2012 is Dr. Jacob's first unambiguous note of physical abuse:
Had a good time on vacation but there were times when she believed she knew what it was like to be her mother. Said she was reluctant to tell me what happened because she “knew what” I would say. Asked her what she thought I would say. Said she heard me saying “leave him on the floor, don’t engage, and to leave.” J very drunk, using, angry. Tried to calm him down. Asked him not to drink or use so much which made him angrier. Admits screaming back at him. He hit her, threw her on floor. She threw pot at him. Told her she dresses like a “whore” and was not to wear low cut dresses, shirts, etc. After he sobered up he’s always apologetic and sweet. Wants sweet J around more Discussed cycles of DV again. Told her no matter what she did or didn’t do that behavior was unacceptable. Told her no matter what she can’t change him.
Dr. Jacobs noting they discussed domestic violence "again" suggests this is not the first time she was made aware Johnny had become physically abusive.
In 2012 Amber really becomes aware of how much those around Johnny enable him. She was struggling with what Al-anon and Dr. Jacobs were telling her, which was to leave Johnny passed out and not help him get to bed. More insight into her father as well:
Talked about how difficult it is for her to not enable J’s behavior. Discussed difference between rage and anger. Father has been in and out of town. Insists on trying to “break” horse the way he’s always done it. A[mber] has a trainer who is doing it gently but father keeps interfering. Doesn’t feel she can stop him. Said she’s going to more Al-anon meetings and talking with friends and parents about J’s substance abuse. Said J gets drugs from friends, bodyguards, sister. Sister is his manager and works to keep him happy so he can financially support family. J supports mother, sister, children and thinks V. A[mber] angry people are willing to get him whatever he wants because he’s a celebrity and he pays them.
In February she struggled with nightmares and became familiar with Johnny's "splitting":
Said she has recurring nightmares about parents and [sister?]. Wakes up in panic. Isn’t sleeping well. Discussed some of material in dreams. Sobbing during session. Said becomes panicked when J takes off for days and she doesn’t hear from him. J’s sister said he does that on occasion. Believes he goes on benders and may get hurt. Pretty sure he’s cheating on her when he does that.
The reason for Johnny skipping out on her is made clear in March. Dr Jacob's tries to get Amber to see the patterns in his behavior:
Heard from J and saw each other. J gets angry and jealous when she is photographed w/ men eating out. Told him they are just friend. Discussed that trying to control is DV behavior.
More insight into her father:
Afraid father is going to slip and tell people about her and J. Father drinks and talks a lot to look like he’s important. Concerned he will tell one of his drinking and drugging buddies and they will tell press. J says they will go public soon. She found some of the ways they sneak around funny but tired of it. J says he’ll drink and use less but doesn’t last long. A[mber] gets fearful later in night because he gets drunker then.
Dr. Jacobs realized her nightmares were connected to Johnny:
Having nightmares about childhood and being chased – trouble sleeping. Has been [exercising?] but still can’t fall or stay asleep. Discussed and processed dreams. Discussed some of this is being triggered by J being similar to dad. Loss of agency. Discussed way to calm herself at night and work on changing dreams by visualizing something happy and pleasant as she falls asleep. Very tearful.
Amber continued struggling with not caretaking for him:
Has gone to some Al-anon meeting and finds them helpful but still feels badly “doing nothing” when J needs to be taken to bed. Struggling with letting him stay on the floor when he passes out. Discussed how no consequences to substance abuse behavior are enabling the user. Explained how what most people consider helping someone only hurts the user because they do not need to take responsibility for actions. A[mber] understands concept better but still struggling with it.
Dr. Jacobs tried to get Amber to understand the cycle of violence and control:
Continued discussing co-dependent behavior and how just checking up on J and parents is Co D. Afraid when she doesn’t hear from him he’s hurt or wants to break up. Told her this is his controlling behavior to keep her hooked in. Says she loves him and doesn’t understand how it’s controlling – discussed more. He becomes enraged because she “nags” him about drinking and drugging. Stays out with his friends and doesn’t get in til early morning. He’s missed a number of work meetings and call times because he’s too messed up to get there. Pointed out keeping track of his appointments is co-dep.
In May, Johnny's jealousy was getting worse, though he seemed to make exception for iO and Rocky, but only iO and Rocky:
Went out w/ a male friend and J got upset. Has also been getting annoyed if she sees some female friends other than [iO Tillet Wright] or [Rocky Pennington] because she is bi. He’s been increasingly jealous and concerned she will cheat on him. Continually states she won’t but he wants to tell her who she can and can’t see. Discussed abuse includes control again. He frequently engages in name calling.
The sexual abuse is first mentioned on May 24th, 2012:
Said she often feels uncomfortable when J touches her if he’s drunk. Said J has trouble maintaining erection when high. He gets angry and sometimes violent when that happens. Blames her for his failure. Discussed physiological reasons alcoholics and some substance users have sexual problems.
Amber missed a lot of sessions because her car would break down. Dr. Jacobs had insight into Amber's thought process:
Apologized for late cancel. Talked about work and car trouble. Loves her car but it’s extremely problematic. Discussed how often she apologizes for same issue. Said she was sorry again. Laughed. Discussed how apologies are often not for things over which she has control or responsibility. Talked about how she tries to take on responsibility in effort to have control. Fails and feels bad because no matter how hard she tries to make herself responsible she’s not. Blames herself for a lot that isn’t about her.
Johnny and her father start drinking together in June:
Dad and J drinking buddies. Likes when mom and sister are there. Has been very busy. Paparazzi very distressing. Follow her around. Still is hiding w/ J at her place and his. Feels lonely when not w/ others.
(This note was made on June 28th. Previous to reading these, I'd pieced together Johnny was off the wagon and drinking with Amber's father because of a picture a fan posted with Johnny at a bar on June 14th. Amber's dad is in the background. Picture here. Amber's reports are truly very consistent with independent evidence.)
The way in which Johnny made Amber feel responsible for his substance abuse really starts to manifest in the second half of 2012. From August 7th:
Not feeling well. Rough time w/ J. Disappeared. Came late. A[mber] was worried. Argued about who she was seeing. Thinks she is cheating. She denied but he was in a rage. He threw things. Glass flew near her head. Asked if she was going to Al-anon meetings. Said she didn’t have time but wanted to. Still can’t bring herself to tell him to go home or not come over if he is drunk/drugged. Fears he will be hurt. Asked what about her feelings? Told her he is escalating and not about her. Feels she should be able to do something.
Dr. Jacobs tried to get Amber to see the extent of Johnny's controlling behavior:
Having nightmares again. Very tearful. Afraid of breaking up w/ J. Feels he will stop using and drinking if she can help him feel better about himself. Still not going public because he is protecting her. [I] Ask if she believes that. Said she is afraid of bad publicity. Discussed cycle of DV and control is a sign.
Amber wanted to get better at handling Johnny's splitting:
Talked to J but he is often unresponsive. Scares her when she doesn’t hear from him. Reminded her if something happened to him she would know from media. Wants to do more work on codependency. Talked through some co-dep behaviors.
Reports of sexual violence return on September 25th:
Extremely fatigued. Fighting w/ J again. He violent. Throwing things. Some hit her. She screaming back. Started w/ he was upset at clothes. Ripped her nightgown threw her on bed. Tried to have sex but couldn’t get erection. Became more angry. He passed out.
In the aftermath Johnny promised to get sober. From October 2nd:
J being nice. Sorry for fight. Discussed cycle of abuse (Honeymoon stage). J promised he would get clean
From October 9th:
J not using since fight. Does better when they are together. Sure she can help him stay clean. Had more discussion about addiction. Went over it not being caused by her. His use is long term before they even met. Feels responsible even though isn’t logical. Why can’t she help more?
Johnny told Amber more about his abusive childhood:
J’s mother at house. Very demanding and nasty. J’s father dead. Both abusive when J was young. Father worse than mother.
(Probably just a result of Dr. Jacob's quickly writing notes, but it is Johnny's stepfather who passed away, not biological father.)
More insight into Amber's childhood:
Discussed her mother’s [role] in father’s abuse. He abused all of them but she allowed it by staying. Very tearful.
Dr. Jacobs remained concerned about Johnny exerting so much control over Amber through hiding the relationship, but Amber continued to see it from Johnny's perspective:
Still claims J thinks it’s best to wait. Makes it a game to hide. A[mber] buying into it.
At the end of October, Johnny was hanging out with Marilyn Manson. Amber really didn't care for him:
J’s friends bad influence. A[mber] doesn’t like MM. Talks badly about women, does a lot of drugs.
Amber's family planned on coming for Christmas. She was worried about Johnny spending time with her father. Sexual violence again brought up:
Feeling stress about holidays and shoot. Parents coming for X-mas. Always worried about Dad drinking and causing problems. Discussed Al-anon, ways to deal w/ his drinking – Don’t engage. Has trouble doing that when he verbally attacks sister and mother. J winds up drinking w/ dad. Father misogynist – says horrible things about how women should be treated to J. Sometimes J becomes verbally and sexually abusive after spending time w/ father. Has thrown her on bed and had “angry sex.” If he’s drunk can’t perform and gets angrier. Blames her for impotence. She feels responsible. Discussed addicts not taking responsibility for their actions. Blaming others so they don’t need to own their behavior.
From November 28th:
Continued discussing addict behavior. That she didn’t cause and therefore can’t fix the problem. Talked about going to couples therapy. J says he has a psychiatrist and maybe they can see him. A doesn’t think he sees the psychiatrist very often. Not sure if he gets pills from him. Thinks psychiatrist is just another “yes man” because J is rich and famous.
(Johnny was addicted to Roxicodone and Klonopin at this point. Safe to say Amber's concern over his psychiatrist was correct. That's the guy supplying him with the "pills" Johnny always mentions to Paul Bettany.)
The last entry from 2012, on December 20th:
J got drunk and passed out on couch. Left him there and went to bed. Felt proud of herself for not trying to make it okay for him but bad at the same time. Discussed change is difficult. Nothing changes if she always does the same thing. No consequences means nothing changes.
Amber didn't see Dr. Jacobs while she was in Europe for her shoot. The next session was March 7th, one day before the "disco bloodbath" fight:
J’s drinking and drugging again. Went to Rolling Stones concert and didn’t ask her. Felt very hurt that he would leave her out knowing she loves the Stones. Kept asking why he would do that. Feels uncared for and unloved when he does those things. Feels punished for complaining about his using. Discussed addiction and DV, emotional abuse and control. Says she understands codependency but is having trouble getting the [illegible] in her heart. Sure she can change him.
After going public, Johnny wouldn't let her address the rumors that she ended his marriage with Vanessa ("the homewrecker shit you never let me fight," as Amber put it in February 2016):
People are saying vicious things about her. Hurt her feelings because they don’t know her. Discussed putting up better boundaries and ignoring people or defending herself. J says ignore it but she wants people to know the truth. Studios protect J but not her. Word of J’s drunkenness and drugs hardly ever make tabloids. No one knows how many times he has thrown things at her and other people or shown up late to call times because of drugs and alcohol.
From March 18th:
Mom telling her to not be so hard on J to go along more. Got angry w/ her because of what happened since mom did that w/ dad. Asked why she was with J given his behavior. Says she loves him and feels if things were more stable between them he would get better. Checked to determine if abuse was ever directed at children. A[mber] said not that she ever saw.
Police were called around this time:
he threw her against a wall and threatened to kill her while they were at her apt. Landlord called police but told them everything was fine. Pointed out her behavior was paralleling her mom’s and she can’t “fix” J.
Johnny was back in the "Honeymoon" phase after threatening to kill her:
J being nice and loving again. Sorry he hurt her. A[mber] acknowledges she screamed back and put him down. Doesn’t know what to do when he is out of control. Asked if she could leave, go someplace safe. Said she could go to a friend. Again asked why she wants to be w/ him. What does she love about him? Made some statements about “the good J.” Pointed out the bad one comes w/ the good one.
In the aftermath of the "Documentary/Painting" incident on March 22nd, Amber had a panic attack on March 25th:
Had a panic attack but was able to use relaxation techniques to calm herself down.
From April 1st:
Has been reading a lot about alcoholism, abuse and childhood trauma... knowing/understanding only go so far. Feels if she can understand it will be easier to deal with her stuff and J. Informed her no amount of understanding makes behavior “ok.” Great to understand but people have to be held accountable for their behavior.
April 11th:
J drinking and using again. Got nasty and grabbed her [this word is either "arm" or "again"]. Passed out in living room and she left him there. Discussed possibly moving in w/ him and what that would mean for her safety. Friend [iO Tillet Wright] is around more when she’s at J’s. Expressed concern re: his blackouts and behavior. A[mber] thinks he will be better when they live together.
April 30th:
Had fun on birthday but J and his friends got drunk. He’s using more. She stays away when they are using and he gets angry. Always sorry next day. Wants him to see therapist more often. He says he will.
From May 8th, only a few days before Johnny would text Stephen Deuters that he cut himself badly and needed stitches:
She can’t make J stop. J has been late and missing work because of drinking and drugs. People, some friends angry about his behavior. Unprofessional. Gets so angry w/ self he burns his skin w/ cigarettes. Tried to get him to stop but he gets angrier. Loves him and wants to help him.
A few days later:
Having trouble w/ sleeping. Had panic attack. Discussed events leading up to panic. Reminded her if she can talk she has to be breathing. J jealous about her filming w/ other men. Assures him she’s faithful but he’s unreasonable. Doesn’t want her to dress in low cut or tight fitting clothes. Feeling very pressured.
Amber went out of town with Johnny to Hicksville at the end of May, then on to his press tour for The Lone Ranger. She didn't check back in with Dr. Jacobs until August 1st, soon after getting back from Europe:
Really wanted to talk over past months but was busy w/ her work, J’s work and appearances. Really happy to be home but leaving again soon. Feels better staying at J’s compound because security doesn’t allow paparazzi and fans to get in. Friend [iO Tillet Wright] is living in one of the houses because [he] is broke. Wishes there were not so many other people around – J’s “friends.” J’s using is very bad. She has been yelling at him about drugs and alcohol. He falling down, passing out, and verbal abuse. She screamed at him about public behavior like kissing [Jimmy Kimmel] on TV. Arguments are more frequent and hurting himself and her. Told him she would leave if he didn’t stop and get help. She took it back after he promised he would. I told her to stop hiding and emptying bottles as it doesn’t help and could make things worse.
Johnny was fresh out of rehab around this time:
Still arguing but getting a little better. J has been drinking less. Has not blacked out or gotten violent in past few days. Reminded her he has not committed to sobriety and nothing change[s] until he is. She sure he is willing to get better. Having trouble w/ studio because of his actions. She and his sister trying to [illegible] w/ him. A[mber] can’t stand that his “friends” hang out and want to party. Feels they use J.
From August 20th:
Things have been quieter at home but always a little on edge. Discussed not knowing when the next shoe might drop so she is hypervigilant. Recommended “Co-Dependent no more” and “Walking on eggshells.” I questioned decision to move in w/ J. Said she thinks it will get better. He’s not drinking as much.
Amber spent most of the rest of the year in London, not going back to see Dr. Jacobs until January 7th, 2014:
Getting engaged. Holidays ok but J using again. Spent time w/ parents, sister and bf. Saw friends. Getting house ready to move in. Wants to have engagement party but very busy and doesn’t know how to juggle everything. Very stressed. [Rocky] said she’ll help with party. J busy w/ filming and movie. Has been passing out a lot. Fearful he will OD and/or become nasty. Asked if she’s going to Al-anon? Said sometimes but no time. Told to make time. Fears she is failing because can’t get J to be sober.
From January 16th:
Dad and J drinking buddies. Upset J is using. Banned father from their room at hotel. [Rocky] helping with food and venue for [engagement] party. Worried everything won’t get done in time. Did relax in office. Says she is trying to do it at home but it’s hard. [Illegible] helps but not enough. I questioned her willingness to marry J. Said she can help him. Asked how well mom was able to help dad. Said it was different because mom is addict too.
Four days later:
Life still stressful. Work stuff, house and party. J’s working – music and film. He’s showing up late to work. A[mber] tries to get him to not use night before work. Works sometimes. [Rocky] doing good job trying to find venue for party. Very attached and grateful to [Rocky]. Have each other’s backs.
From January 23rd:
Has been exercising for stress. Helps but not enough. Trouble sleeping. Nightmares. Discussed dream content. J being verbally aggressive. Gets angry if no alcohol. A[mber] admits to dumping some. Discussed not doing that. He can always get more and she’s being [codependent]. [Illegible] to go to Al-anon. Will do so before next session. Helps to talk to [iO Tillet Wright] about Al-anon issues.
One week later:
Not sleeping well or enough. Very tired and needs to look good for camera. J’s sistemgr causing problems. Sister helps J get drugs and alcohol. A[mber] feels too many people support his using. Wants to do something about that but not sure what.
Amber saw Dr. Jacobs on February 3rd, only a few hours before a fight with Johnny would blow up into a multi-day affair across the 4th and 5th:
Discussed pre-nup. J doesn’t want one because he says only way one of them leaving marriage is death. I asked if she would sign one. She said yes she has no prob with it. Finds what J said funny and endearing. Asked, given his history, if maybe it’s a little scary. Denied being afraid.
From February 12th:
J got drunk. Fell and broke table. Left him there passed out. Found him in bed next AM. Doesn’t know if he got there himself or bodyguards helped. Hard to use Al-anon techniques when so many other people are involved in caretaking him.
The first week of March:
Very anxious... Asked if having second thoughts about marriage. She said yes but feels she can help J and will have more say over things once they are married. Told her she set [precedent] for [illegible] behavior and other’s behavior so likely won’t change. Became tearful and repeated that she loves him.
Later in March is the first mention of Johnny's jealousy over James Franco:
Stated she leaves to shoot movie in a couple of days. Can’t come to therapy for a while. Re-stated can call if needs to. Worried about part and J’s feelings about her working love scenes with [James Franco.] Told him nothing to worry about. Feels he is going to cause problems on set. He will visit but not going to be there most of the time.
Amber went back to Dr. Jacobs on May 15th, nine days before she would board their flight from Boston to Los Angeles:
Someone posted photo of her w/ JF and J got angry. Had argument. Screaming. Crying. He threatened to break up she assured him nothing was going on. J threw things at her. She left was scared. Went to friend’s house. J cut and burned self. Was drunk yelling he was worthless and she didn’t love him. Doesn’t know what to do when he self mutilates. Told her to call an ambulance. Said she can’t do that because press will get hold of it. Same reason she doesn’t call police when they fight. Also knows cops won’t do anything because he’s a celebrity.
Amber went to see Dr. Jacobs on May 23rd, only hours before she would receive a phone call from Johnny that would set her back on edge:
Talked to J about how scary his behavior was. He apologized. On his best behavior right now. Again discussed cycle of DV.
From a text exchange Amber had with Johnny's sister Christi on May 25th, 2014, in the aftermath of the flight in which Johnny kicked her:
CD: How have you been before this?
AH: Great, perfect, heaven until he decides to use. And the drug abuse, all prescription meds, and drinking has been slowly climbing every day. And we've been fine except when there's any issue or hiccup or problem. Then shit hits the fan because he doesn't deal with it as Johnny, he deals with it as a totally different person. A demon. It was the worst I've ever seen him. I think it's because he's now taking Adderall on top of all the other shit, which is the equivalent to consuming a pharmaceutical speedball every day. He will die if he continues to call being sober just not drinking. And his medicine kit includes tons of new drugs. He's going to kill himself Christi.
Amber did not go back to see Dr. Jacobs until well into the summer of 2014. From August 4th:
Decided on wedding date have a lot to do. Looking at gowns. J left planning to her. Got planner. [Rocky] helping. Discussed feelings re: marriage and substance use. Also discussed issues of DV in relationship. Stated J better and not acting out physically. Believes she can manage problems. Suggested getting impartial couple’s therapist. J not up for that. Wants to use someone he knows if anyone.
Three days later was the last appointment Amber would have with Dr. Jacobs until 2019:
Seems wrapped up in idea of fantasy wedding not realities of relationship problems. Advised problems don’t get better, if anything get worse. Sure things will get better once they are actually married because she will have more authority in house. Told her that wasn’t realistic.

2023.02.03 05:22 lateral_mind How to proceed? Trespassing arrest, no legal representation given.

Arizona. I was arrested for criminal trespassing at a train station. (3rd degree, 13-1502 A2 https://www.azleg.gov/ars/13/01502.htm) What are some options moving forward?Or any thoughts about a Criminal Trespass Lawyer vs Public Defender?

Story Here, or skip to read about my Lack of Legal Representation.
The incident at the Station is clear, the arrest is a bit harder, and I am asking for Body Cam footage to get the dialogue exactly.
Map https://imgur.com/a/Ybr3j7q
~10 p.m.
I walk on the Train Station Property (Green Line). I go to the loading platform/sidewalk of the Train Station, and start taking a photo. A utility golf cart drives up on me.
It parks in front of my camera, blocking my photo and my closest exit. Headlights are on me.
I stand up and start removing my headphones while the driver of the cart steps out.
He greets me. I greet back.
Him: What are you doing?
Me: What am I doing?
Him: Yeah, What's uh--- what's with the camera?
Me: (I don't know who he is) Oh, I don't believe I have to answer that question.
Him: Okay. Well as of right now you are trespassing. You cannot be on the platform here [or along the front of the Visitor Center.] points East at the platform and continues... And you can't be taking photos of the Visitor Center, right now.
Me: Great... I say this and immediately begin exiting via the Purple line. Our conversation takes less than 20 seconds. I want nothing to do with this guy, and he still has not identified himself.
Him: As I walk past him, he tells me. You can take pictures of the Visitor Center during normal visiting hours from 8 to 5. (He might have said 9 to 5, which are the Sunday hours.)

I do not turn back to face him, respond, or stop, but I note that he has invited me back.
I continue exiting the Blue Line, and do not stop. I take no photographs. My destination is East to San Francisco St, then South across the train tracks.
I go up a ramp exiting onto the public sidewalk and turn South, walking past the San Francisco St parking lot entrance. The guy is now standing on the East-side of the Visitor Center next to his golf cart. He waits there for a bit... ~96 yards away.

Another train crosses San Francisco St. heading East and blocking my path. This train takes about 2 minutes to pass. It is very long.
I wait with two other people on the sidewalk, facing the train. I make no attempt to walk back on the property.
He starts walking towards me and I see him reach for something.
As he gets closer I decide to take another photo of the Station, still on the sidewalk. The train is still passing.
I kneel down to take a photo of the Amtrak Station. He stands about 5 yards from me now, and I stand up and face South again.
Me: Long train...
Him: No response. He is on the phone; I assume it is with the Police and he is making a complaint. I would later find out that he told the officers that saw me on the train tracks down the road, and that I put something like bottle-shaped on the tracks. (My camera?) He also said I was VERY confrontational.
The train passes. I immediately walk South two blocks where I continue taking photos.

The City cops detain me. I answer minimal questions. Then they arrest me, and transfer me to the Sherriff ran jail.

My thoughts:
I could have probably handled the situation better, but I had no idea who the guy was.
At no time did I admit talking to the guy, or being at the train station, to the Police.
There were no Signs for Trespassing at the Station that I remember. I didn't see any on Google Maps, either. The gates were open to the platform so it wasn't fenced off. I also left at the first sign of a possible violation.
However, they will most likely get me on the Trespassing charge, unless there is something they messed up on. Is there something to the guy inviting me back during normal business hours? I mean, he Trespassed me, and then immediately invited me back for pictures during normal business hours... Then when I was off the property he phoned the Police for Trespassing. ??
Lastly, I was held overnight until I could see a Judge to set a court date and to set terms of release. It was done via CCTV, and I believe it was called an Initial Appearance Hearing. https://www.coconino.az.gov/542/Initial#:~:text=Initial%20Appearance%20Hearing,charges%20against%20him%20or%20her
I was not told about the Hearing, but I deduced that I might see a Judge. A few hours before the Hearing, I told one of the Sheriffs, "If I am going to appear before a Judge I would like Legal Representation." She acknowledged my request and told me she would pass it on and that I would be "brought out". Although I had ample access to a phone, I had no numbers to call a lawyer. In the end I was not given legal representation.
The night before, another person asked for a Lawyer from a different Sherriff and he replied that "THIS IS JAIL. LAWYERS DON'T COME HERE!" Later on I heard him telling a co-worker "He keeps asking for a lawyer because he's a f--king idiot..."
Not sure if there's anything to that.
Sorry for the long post. Thank you all for reading, and I welcome your insight!

2023.02.03 05:01 RowdyFortnite Summary of President George Washington's 2nd term // Rowdy Alternate Election Series

Summary of President George Washington's 2nd term // Rowdy Alternate Election Series

1st President of the United States, George Washington
Vice President: John Adams
Secretary of State: John Jay (resigned in 1795 to become Gov. of NY) replaced by Thomas Pinckney
Secretary of the Treasury: Alexander Hamilton
Secretary of War: Henry Knox (resigned his post following the conclusion of the Northwest Indian War) replaced by Timothy Pickering
Attorney General: Edmund Randolph (resigned quietly in 1795) replaced by John Marshall
\Position of Postmaster General was demoted out of the cabinet by Washington to start the 2nd term*
Coming into his 2nd term Washington retained much of his original cabinet, however over time much of the cabinet moved on. Following the end of the 1st term Thomas Jefferson resigned his post as Secretary of State to start organizing a new political party (Democratic-Republican Party) and was replaced by Chief Justice John Jay who resigned from the Supreme Court. As SoS Jay negotiated the "Jay Treaty" before resigning in 1795 after winning election as Gov. of NY. Jay would be replaced by Minister to Britain Thomas Pinckney as SoS who would conclude his own treaty the "Pinckney Treaty". Henry Knox was another original member of the cabinet, who after the conclusion of the Northwest Indian War announced his retirement and was replaced by Postmaster General Timothy Pickering. The final member of the original cabinet (excluding Adams/Hamilton) to resign was AG Edmund Randolph who had served as an effective mediator for Washington between Hamilton and Jefferson. However after Jefferson's departure Washington mostly gravitated towards Hamilton and only occasionally took Randolph's input. As such he quietly resigned his post in 1795 and was replaced by his cousin and Constitutionalist organizer John Marshall.

Domestic Policies / Events
-In 1793 President Washington laid the cornerstone for the new U.S. Capitol in the new city of Washington, meanwhile construction on the President's House began around the same time. Construction on the initial buildings in the city are expected to be complete around the turn of the century.
-Following the passage of the 1791 whiskey tax, farmers in the west and south fiercely protested and refused to pay the tax. As such the tax was scarcely enforced until 1794 when Washington ordered a crackdown on the tax evaders. Local Democratic-Republican leaders whipped crowds into a frenzy at the supposed overreach of Washington's Constitutionalist administration. As such numerous tax collectors were beaten or killed across the frontier with local militias soon taking matters into their own hands. The situation reached a boiling point when militias began arresting federal officials and having shootouts with federal troops sent to maintain peace. Washington was furious at the growing insurrection and ordered a massive federal force made up of state militias to march on the largest of these insurrectionist camps in Western Pennsylvania. Washington's advisors feared the call for troops would not be heeded without Washington's personal involvement and as such Washington announced he would take command of the combined force. Washington with cabinet members Hamilton and Knox then marched the force to Pennsylvania, where after a brief showdown the insurrectionists surrendered. Over the next few weeks state militias across the country were rounded up by Washington's commanders and marched on these insurrectionist militias. Quickly the resistance collapsed and with minimal casualties the crisis was over. The rebellion was a major blow for the Democratic-Republican party as Constitutionalists accused them of sparking the rebellion, Democratic-Republicans in turn accused the Constitutionalists of displaying excessive force, arguing the situation could have been handled through negotiations.
-Over the period of Washington's 2nd term, political parties began to dominate politics. The former Pro Constitution group was formed into the Constitutionalist party led by Sec. of Treasury Alexander Hamilton and other members of Washington's cabinet as well as local leaders across the country (one example being Washington's 2nd AG John Marshall who led the Constitutionalists in Virginia). The Anti Constitution group was formed into the Democratic-Republican party by former Sec. of State Thomas Jefferson following his departure from the cabinet. Washington himself remained independent and is notably wary of political parties, however has denounced the Democratic-Republicans for their role in the Whiskey Rebellion and is seen as a Constitutionalist icon. Some believe the Democratic-Republicans are planning on launching a challenger to Washington should he run again in 1796, though this would likely only hamper the party.
-In 1794 the 11th amendment was ratified by the required number of states making it official. The amendment clarified judicial power over foreign nationals as well as severely limited the ability of citizens to sue states under federal law.
-In 1796 Tennessee was admitted to the US as the 16th US State, they will be voting in the 1796 Presidential and Congressional elections as their own state.
-Congress passed 2 acts during Washington's second term relating to slavery, the Fugitive Slave Act of 1793 as well as the Slave Trade Act of 1794. The first act made it illegal to assist escaping slaves and the second limited US participation in the global slave trade. Both were signed by Washington.

Foreign Affairs
-The Northwest Indian war was the one major conflict that had plagued the Washington administration his entire presidency, the war began after native tribes were reported to be attacking groups of American settlers moving through the newly acquired American Northwest. Washington ordered Sec. Knox to protect American settlers which led Knox to organize several unsuccessful campaigns led by militia generals such as Josiah Harmar and Arthur St. Clair. At the end of Washington's 1st term Knox had appointed General Anthony Wayne to lead a new American force against the native coalition. Washington made several personal visits to Wayne and his forces while they drilled and trained in Pennsylvania. Wayne's forces struck out in 1794 and re-setup the defensive positions lost by St. Clair's forces. After successfully defending these positions and holding Fort Recovery, Wayne's forces marched further through forested territory held by the natives. Mere miles away from the British Fort Miami the natives led by leader Blue Jacket made a stand against Wayne's forces. At first Wayne's forces were pushed back and the front lines destroyed, however after a quick regroup the American cavalry flanked and routed Blue Jacket's forces. The native forces quickly drew back to Fort Miami where they had been supplied and set out from, however the British had closed the fort and refused to aid Blue Jacket and his forces against the incoming American army. The native forces were massacred just outside the fort and Wayne led his forces on a multi week campaign burning and destroying native villages and lands until finally the native coalition leaders agreed to meet for peace talks. The tribes ceded much of their Ohio land to the US and agreed to recognize the US as the official ruling authority in the region. This along with the Jay Treaty gave the US sole authority in the region. After the conclusion of the war Sec. of War Henry Knox announced his retirement after finally winning the war. General Wayne was revered as a war hero and President Washington finally secured peace along with an American victory in the region.
-The French Revolution has continued to rage over the course of Washington's 2nd term. Mere weeks before Washington's 2nd inauguration, French declared themselves a republic and executed King Louis XVI. This execution was followed waves of similar executions by the French government including many French commanders and allies who helped America during the American Revolution. While the country originally was heavily behind the French revolutionaries, after the recent bloodshed the country is now divided mostly along partisan lines. The Democratic-Republicans continue to favor supporting France specifically in their war with Britain. Meanwhile the Constitutionalists have denounced the "senseless bloodshed" and favor closer ties to Britain instead. Many Constitutionalists warn that if Democratic-Republicans are allowed to take the Presidency they will institute the same mob rule and senseless bloodshed that is taking place in France. Washington continues to pledge to remain neutral, however he has denounced French efforts to sway the American public opinion through the use of local Democratic-Republican chapters. Reports of French produced leaflets being distributed have drawn criticism of the party.
-The other side of the European coin is that of Britain. Upon the beginning of the British war with France, Britain started intercepting France-bound ships including hundreds of American merchant ships. The public outrage to this helped propel the popularity of the Democratic-Republicans. In response to this Washington tasked his new SoS John Jay with coming to an agreement with Britain. After weeks of negotiating a treaty was crafted which would be dubbed the "Jay Treaty". In the treaty the US would receive full control of the Northwest territory, access to West Indies ports and set up a commission to arbitrate on American claims of compensation for stolen ships and British claims of pre-1775 debts. Britain would also receive assurances of American neutrality and closer economic ties to themselves over France. After weeks of deliberations, Washington (in collaboration with the Senate) agreed to sign the treaty. The Democratic-Republicans were outraged and protests rocked the capitol city of Philadelphia and across the country. Jay was branded a traitor and became public enemy #1 of the Democratic-Republicans. In one incident, a home he rented in Philadelphia was burned to the ground. Jay was not in the house at the time. In the months since the passage of the treaty, both parties have engaged in public propaganda campaigns to sway public opinion ahead of the Presidential election.
-Following attacks on American merchant ships in the Atlantic by Barbary pirates, Congress authorized the creation of 6 new warships to defend American shipping. While those ships are being constructed, the state department is offering large rewards to privateers to shepherd American ships through hostile waters. Reports of bounties being placed on the heads of both American and Barbary ships seems to indicate a rapid escalation of the conflict.
-In 1794 Spain (which controls the land of Florida to the south of Georgia) joined Britain in their war against France. Fearing that a hostile Spain could wreck havoc on the deep south (much like Britain did by inciting native tribes in the Northwest), Washington dispatched his new SoS Thomas Pinckney to negotiate a treaty with Spain much like his previous SoS John Jay had with Britain. In the final treaty, Pinckney had secured massive gains for the US, such as new land in West Florida that Spain agreed to relinquish, a guarantee from Spain to drop support of native tribes within US territory and most importantly access to the Mississippi river. The treaty, dubbed the "Pinckney Treaty" proved to be a bipartisan popular victory for the Washington administration.
Supreme Court
-Chief Justice John Jay (resigned 1793) replaced by Associate Justice John Rutledge (resigned in 1795) replaced by Associate Justice Oliver Ellsworth
-John Rutledge (appointed Chief in 1793) replaced by CT Senator Oliver Ellsworth (appointed Chief in 1795) replaced by former MD Gov. Thomas Johnson
-William Cushing
-John Blair Jr
-James Iredell
-James Wilson *(6th seat left vacant for Washington's first term, filled by Wilson at the beginning of the 2nd)
At the start of his 2nd term Washington was left to pick a new Chief Justice as John Jay became SoS, Washington selected Associate Justice John Rutledge. Rutledge held the position until 1795 when he vocally voiced his opposition to the Jay Treaty. Rutledge was scorned and threatened with impeachment by the Constitutionalists who ran a propaganda campaign to force his resignation. Rutledge caved and resigned after a public slander campaign that targeted his mental state and supposed alcohol addiction. Rutledge leapt from a wharf into the Charleston harbor days later and was saved only by a pair of slaves who had witnessed the scene. He was replaced as Chief Justice by Oliver Ellsworth. Washington also established the 6th Justice in 1793, appointing James Wilson.

My Team of the month:

Jan Firlej - Projekt Warszawa started to performing way better in 2nd half of the season. Their wingers stepped up, so their rise through the ranks cannot be attributed just to Firlej, but he clearly plays a huge role in Projekt's recent good results. His setting is very difficult to read, completely unpredictable for other blockers, while he is decent to good in serving and blocking as well and his defensive abilities in backrow are also great. Overall, Janek has been key player of his team and once his wingers finally got healthy and 100% ready to play, Projekt, under Firlej's command, started to win more and rose through the ranks.
Bartłomiej Bołądź - Trefl continues to achieve good results and stays on a road to another top 8 finish with a solid chance of keeping 5th place they had after 1st half of the season. Just like Luke Perry is leader of their defense, Bartek Bołądź is leader of their offense. Over 5 points scored per set, with addition of great service and good blocking make him one of the best (if not the best) opposite in Plusliga so far. This month he led Trefl to wins over Skra and Zaksa, in addition to expected win over Radom.
TJ Defalco - American outside is Resovia's best player and difference between Resovia with Defalco playing well and Resovia without him or with TJ playing poorly is massive. This differrence was quite clear, when he played worse than normally against Cuprum and that was one of 2 loses Resovia had this month. The other one, against Zaksa, was in no way his fault, since Defalco played well in that match. TJ would also be my MVP of this season (if I had to choose one right now), since he averages almost 57% kills, he is one of the best blocking players in the league, his service is great and he does a lot of dirty work impossible to find in stats, like filling in as a secondary setter (setting when Drzyzga defends or cannot get the ball).
Artur Szalpuk - Artur Szalpuk came back to Plusliga this season and didn't start amazingly well, but once he dealt with his injury and took a starting spot away from Igor Grobelny, he has started to perform at the highest level we have ever seen from him. His passing is not that bad, his blocking has always been good and it's not different now, he improved his service, even though his jumping serve is not insanely dangerous, it's more than acceptable and he doesn't make a ton of errors. But what has always been his strenght - his spiking, got even better. He is super effective and efficient (58% kills and 45% efficiency so far) in that part of the game and often becomes top scorer of his team. It looks like playing with Firlej is great for him, just like having Artur on the left is good for Firlej.
Taylor Averill - Player of the month for sure. Taylor is currently in insane form. His service and blocking are good, but his spiking stands out for sure. In last 3 games he got 36 kills out of 42 spikes (that's 86% kills) with one of them being pipe attack against Warta Zawiercie. AZS Olsztyn got 3 super important wins this month and Averill went home with MVP awards in all of them, which shows how well he played and how important he is for his club.
Jan Nowakowski - Selecting second middle was much more difficult. In the end, I chose Jan Nowakowski for his consistent, good showings in all games this month. He has been reliable spiker in last games, averaging 69% kills and over 0,7 blocks per set in last 4 games (all he played this month). His teammates haven't been as consistent as him, just like other middles haven't been regularly good in previous month, so in my opinion Jan deserves some recognition for his current form.
Luke Perry - No changes here. Luke is the best performing libero, not just in Plusliga, but in the whole World. He continued to play like a mad man in January and it doesn't look like he is about to stop anytime soon.

Honorable Mentions:
Marcin Komenda
Linus Weber
Kevin Tillie
Filippo Lanza
Jakub Kochanowski
Michał Szalacha
Kuba Hawryluk
Marcin Komenda did a great job this month, leading LUK Lublin to some important victories, even though his wingers have been rather unpredictable and their performances varied from below average to great depending on the day. Linus Weber is fully healthy and after his recovery he finally started to play like Projekt fans wanted, we will see whether he will continue to be good. Kevin Tillie still is super important for his team. Not only he is key part of their defense, but he also adds quite a bit of points, often in the most important moments of sets or games. Filippo Lanza is the best Skra player this month, he had some really, really good performances, where he led their offense. It looks like playing with Vasina and Musiał somehow gave him a chance to step up and play way bigger role, which he took and shocked a lot of viewers. Kuba Kochanowski is not in peak form, but his blocking was on point this month. His spiking was also allright and ignoring Zaksa game, he has been serving rather well. Michała Szalacha had 2 great games this month and he starts to look like a player that got his chance to debut in NT back in 2019. His recent form is definitely a great information for Warta, since their middles have been lackluster so far this season. Finally, Kuba Hawryluk - young Polish libero waited long time to finally get his chance, but once Javier Weber gave him an opportunity to play, he proved he is one of the biggest prospects in Polish volleyball. Very solid passing, even though he didn't have Andringa next to him in every game, loads of digs and MVP award proves his class.

What do I have to say about teams, their performances and roster updates (if there were any):
Asseco Resovia Rzeszów
Resovia rejoined title competition (finally) and they are currently on their way to win regular season. Unlike 3 teams behind them, they didn't have to play in Europe, but if they continue to play well, it won't be the case next season. Resovia is the best spiking in the league this season and it's mainly due to TJ Defalco, who is fantastic so far. Maciej Muzaj and Klemen Cebulj are also doing quite well. However, recent news about Thibault Rossard getting seriously injured and missing the rest of the season might be problematic for Resovia, French player quite often helped the team and calmed down the rest of the squad when Defalco or Cebulj were struggling. You might be wondering whether the club found a replacement for Rossard. Yes, they did. But I have no idea what they are smoking in Rzeszów, since they went and signed... Mauricio Borges from Czarni Radom. Yes, guy that got relegated to the bench in 15th team of the league. The only saving grace is his passing, something potentially usefull for Resovia, but besides that Mauricio in Radom was horrendous. However, this season is great for the club, fans are finally coming back to their arena, atmosphere is good once again and they are about to fight for Polish Cup this month and then for medals in play-offs.

Jastrzębski Węgiel
With Jurij Gladyr back and addition of Moustapha M'Baye, Jastrzębski started to show signs of live again. Boyer is not back to his insane level from first months, but Fornal and Clevenot started to play better, their middle got stronger and they started to collect victories again. After losing 4 games in December, they've won 3 and lost just one this month. Jastrzębski definitely is getting stronger at the moment, they should continue to become even better in near future and fight with Resovia for 1st place in regular season.

Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie
Warta had a tough month and unlike JW, their performances were certainly not good and they were clearly worse compared to previous months. They were leaders of Plusliga after first half of the season, but now they dropped to 3rd after disappoiting month (in league and Champions League) and worrying loss 3:0 to GKS Katowice, without Uros Kovacevic and Santiago Danani. Both players are currently injured, but they should be back pretty soon. The only positive was big improvement by Michał Szalacha. However, season is not even close to being over and they should start playing better once Uros and Danani recover. I don't think they can drop out of top 4 anyways and by the time play-off starts, their form might be completely different.

Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle
This season will have 2 stages for Zaksa. Before Bednorz and after Bednorz. Because his arrival was not only (very late) necessary Semeniuk's replacement, but it transformed Zaksa from struggling top team into a Zaksa we saw in previous years. It was not immidiate, as loss to Trefl shows, but addition of Bartek Bednorz turned Zaksa from a team that can get a medal if things go well, into one of main title contenders. Really good game against Trentino with 2 sets of complete demolition of Italian team, followed by solid win over Resovia proved Zaksa is back. This makes me think that they will keep at least top 4 position in regular season and they will challange top Italian teams in Champions League this season.

Projekt Warszawa
Projekt had a very slow start, but after firing Santili and giving Graban a chance as a first coach and some key players recovery (Szalpuk, Tillie and Weber had injuries) they started to play really well and their rise in table is the best proof of their improvement. Tillie and Wojtaszek provide good passing, Jan Firlej is setting well and Weber with Szalpuk give Projekt their good offensive power. Wrona and Nowakowski, supported by Semeniuk, are one of the most experienced and effective blocking duos in Plusliga too. All in all, Warszawa look really solid now and they should easily stay in top 8. They won't be without chances to win their quaterfinal in play-offs as well.

Indykpol AZS Olsztyn
AZS is a bit unlucky, they have been dealing with some injuries, but their results are good and with their remaining schedule they should also keep their play-off spot. Even after losing Joshua Tuaniga and replacing him with very solid and reliable setter - Grzegorz Pająk. Luckily, even without their starting setter, they were looking fine. Karol Butryn and Bartłomiej Lipiński are a bit better than they were, Kuba Hawryluk continues to impress at libero, but the biggest start of AZS Olsztyn is Taylor Averill. American middle is on fire, he consistently carries his team and demolishes every opponent he meets. They still have a lot of room for improvements, especially offensively, but even without those, AZS should stay within top 8.

Trefl Gdańsk
Trefl continues to be super solid team with quite high lows. Their defense, built around Luke Perry and Jan Martinez, is absolutely fantastic. Bartłomiej Bołądź is performing really well and carries most of offensive load, with Mikołaj Sawicki supporting him nicely with decent offense and great service. They also finally signed another outside, who is probably replacing Piotr Orczyk, who got injured months ago - this new player is Jingyin Zhang. Chinese outside will bring some more physical power to the team and possibly improve their offense (if needed), however, he will be available only once other foreign player (Kampa, Perry or Martinez) sits on the bench. Overall, Trefl is very solid and reliable, so I don't think they will have any problems with staying in top 8, keeping 5th position they had after 1st half of the season is possible, but it will be difficult.

LUK Lublin
LUK had some real problems early on this season. They started with 6 loses, then they had just 2 wins in first 10 games, only to step it up once their players came back from injuries and they currently sit 8th with 12 wins and 10 defeats. It means they went 10-2 in last 12 games. Those 10 wins included victories over Zaksa, JW, Warta Zawiercie and AZS Olsztyn. Their key man is Nicholas Szerszeń, who is very solid in backrow, serves amazingly well and scores very efficiently when it comes to spiking. Szymon Romać, their starting opposite, is one of the biggest surprises of the league, he took over as a starter when Mateusz Malinowski was injured and so far kept his spot through very good performances. Add very solid Nowakowski and super offensive Jeffrey Jendryk in the middle, good duo of liberos (Watten and Gregorowicz) and Marcin Komenda, who distributes the ball really well and that's a good team. Which is why I kept faith in them after poor start and I think they will defend their spot in top 8 now that Nicholas Szerszeń should be back from another injury.

PSG Stal Nysa
Stal Nysa is much, much better than they were last year. Instead of relegation fight, they compete for top 8 this season. Some smart, solid signings, good job done by their coach, Daniel Pliński and massive support from their fans led them to this huge improvement. They had a slump in late November - early December, but they got back on track pretty quickly. Stal offense still heavily relies on Ben Tara (especially) and Gierżot (slightly less). Whenever they are both playing well, Stal is a huge threat for almost every team. They are able to deal with Gierżot's bad days, by subbing in El Graoui, but whenever Wassim Ben Tara is playing poorly, Stal is struggling and usually loses. They are also very rarely playing through the middle, without looking at stats, I would predict that they are using their middles the least in Plusliga. Their terrible passing definitely plays a role here, but it looks like Tsimafei Zhoukovski doesn't trust Abramowicz and Jankowski too much and Zerba is getting set only a bit more. All in all, I think they are too inconsistent to get into top 8 this season, but they definitely have a chance to surprise me and overtake one of teams above them.

Ślepsk Malow Suwałki
Ślepsk finished first half of the season 6th, now they are 10th, but only 2 points behind 8th LUK Lublin. Last month they lost to Resovia, as expected, but getting completely demolished by Projekt and dropping 2 points against Cuprum is somewhat disappointing for a team aiming at top 8. Wins over struggling GKS and Barkom are valueable, but they need to score more points, if they want to climb back into top 6 or top 8. Ślepsk wingers are doing rather well, especially Bartosz Filipiak, who is one of the best performing opposites in Plusliga. Mateusz Czunkiewicz improved again and I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the NT squad for VNL. Matias Sanchez is great setter, but his height is also obvious problem, often abused by his opponents. Looking at their recent form and remaining schedule, I don't see how they can make play-offs, since they still have a lot of really strong opponents left to play and they are already behind their competition.

PGE Skra Bełchatów
Their transformation from the most disappointing team to clowns of the league got completed. In 2nd half of regular season they got just 1 win and it was against BBTS Bielsko-Biała, team that scored points 3! times (twice against 15th Radom and once against Skra), proceeding to lose the rest of 7 games they played so far. Yes, they weren't terrible against Projekt Warszawa, but then they lost 3:0 to Barkom. Once Mateusz Bieniek stopped playing like a mad man, Skra started to struggle even more than before. Add Atanasijevic's injury and Kooy's problems to see complete disaster that is Skra Bełchatów at the moment. They just fired Joel Banks and hired Andrea Gardini, so it looks like they want to end the season on higher note and maybe even try to pull off a massive comeback into top 8. It's not impossible, they are just 5 points behind 8th LUK Lublin, but they need to start playing much, much better. They have easier games ahead of them now (Ślepsk, Cuprum, GKS and Czarni), before 4 more difficult, but also more important games (Zaksa, JW, AZS, LUK), so their schedule is pretty good to rebuild their morale and attempt a massive comeback. However, I don't have faith and I think they will miss play-offs for the first time in their history (they debuted in Plusliga in 2001/2002 season)

Barkom Kazany Lviv
New addition to the league. There was a lot of questions regarding this team, many people thought they will be really bad, however Barkom built a really decent team and even though they needed some time to get their first win, they are definitely far from the worst team in Plusliga this season. Solid 3 wins in January, over GKS, Cuprum and Skra allowed them to climb to 12th position. Their number 1 star is Vasyl Tupchii, Ukrainian opposite is one of the highest scoring players in the league, keeping his spiking at good 50% kills, while adding pretty good blocking and serving. Another stand out performer is Murat Yenipazar, Turkish setter is another positive surprise and it looks like his performance might lead him to another, higher ranked Plusliga team next season. Their duo of young and experienced middles provide really good blocking, but their spiking and serving is average at best. Overall, this team relies super heavily on Tupchii (almost 8 sets per set and over 4,5 points per set), but they are playing some solid volleyball and despite worries of some volleyball fans in Poland, they are a good addition to Plusliga. They proved their worth.

Cuprum Lubin
Cuprum has pretty underwhelming season, they continue to often lose decisively a bit too often, but then they pull off some impressive games out of nowhere and get wins strong teams like Resovia or JW (earlier). As of right now they realised they are not getting into play-offs, but they are also not getting relegated, so they let Moustapha M'Baye go to JW and Grzegorz Pająk to AZS Olsztyn, which kind of shows how they are just waiting for this season to end. Luckily, it means that Kajetan Kubicki will get to play a lot more and since he is probably the most promising Polish setter, I have got to be happy about that. Cuprum definitely started to play better after Berger returned and Paweł Rusek started to give Adam Lorenc more chances as a starter. Those 2 play a big role in this, just like Paweł Pietraszko, who together with their other starting middle, Florian Krage, quietly collected some great performances and are statistically one of the best middle duos in the league. Overall, Curpum might get a spot higher or lower, but they are not dangerously close to relegation fight (10 points ahead of Radom) and they are even further away (12 points) from top 8, so there is not a lot to fight for.

GKS Katowice
GKS was doing really well early on, they collected 7 wins in first 11 games, only to completely collapse in December and lose next 10 games, getting their 8th win against Warta Zawiercie of all teams in last game they played. Yeah, Jakub Szymański missed some games and once he came back they let Tomas Rousseaux go, but it really doesn't explain how they failed to score even 1 point in 10 games. Another issue (besides missing Szymański and losing Rousseaux) was Jakub Jarosz. His form dropped off a cliff and since he was their top scorer and best player when they were winning (5 MVP awards), it hurt the team. Losing Micah Ma'a was a big hit and Georgi Seganov was unable to really replace him long term. Now, GKS is waiting for this season to end, just like Cuprum. They have safe gap over Radom and play-offs ran away from them, so they will play remaining games with no pressure.

Cerrad Enea Czarni Radom
I didn't expect too much and I'm still disappointed. Czarni continue to lose game after game, they even managed to lose to BBTS. Again. They had moments, when they looked competitive, but overall they are lucky BBTS is worse, otherwise they would finish last and get relegated. Of course, the threat is still there, since 15th team will have to face 2nd place team from 1. Liga and looking at current Radom, I'm not so sure they will win. Bartosz Firszt is their most consistent performer, this Polish outside actually has a decent season, clearly better than previous ones. Bartek Lemański and Piotr Łukasik had some promising performances too. Wiktor Nowak isn't too bad either. But that's just not enough to regularly score points and climb out of the hole they are in. I think they might cause an upset and win a game, maybe score some more points, but in the end keep 15th place.

BBTS Bielsko-Biała
They are the worst team in the league by a mile. They are bottom 3 in all team rankings, they've lost Zimmerman, then let Pujol go, just like they allowed Urbanowicz to leave. Basically, they gave up. They somehow got 2 wins over Radom and recently scored 1 point against Skra, but most of the time they are not really competitive and they are winning sets when their opponents are losing concentration after easily beating them in previous set. Their best player and probably the only one worthy of starting in Plusliga is Jake Hanes. American opposite scores a ton of points and usually keeps the score at acceptable level almost by himself. The rest of the team is (or was) just not good enough. Letting some of their starting players go shows that they basically gave up, so I don't think they will score even one more point. I'm pretty sure only a miracle can save them from finishing last and getting relegated.

2023.02.03 04:28 Dirty_Narwhal Faux Rogue/Gambit in progress

Howdy y'all, I'm working on a dumb, fun build where I'm trying to make a trickster character that feels like a rogue without taking a single level in rogue(or Ranger hopefully because it just feels too easy).
The build so far:
  1. Fighte1! I chose Thrown Weapon Fighting right off the bat and am using darts as the weapon of choice which I'm reflavoring to metal throwing cards and give em that gambit feel.
  2. Fighte2. Action surge! This is the main thing I'm going to be using to dole out big damage later on in a single round.
  3. Fighte3 Battlemaster! Super versatile subclass that I think will let me do some shenanigans later on when I have more maneuvers to spare. For now just some bread and butter: Quick Toss: enables net throwing for advantage attacks OR an extra dart throw. Precision Attack: helps to hit consistently, but mainly because Sharpshooter is coming at level 4. 3rd maneuver is up in the air, but likely pushing/menacing attack, anything that will add to damage rolls and be added if a crit happens, extra 2d8 baby!
  4. Fighte4. Darts are ranged weapons AND thrown weapons, so I'm picking up sharpshooter to start hitting much harder. Maybe switch fighting styles to archery here just to offset the -5, but I think precision attack will help when needed
  5. Fighte5. Extra attack!
  6. Fighte6. I rolled stats already and started with a +4 to dex. Getting it to +5 is tempting, but I think I want Fighting Initiate to get an additional fighting style, either Archery or Mariner(UA). Archery if it feels difficult to hit with SS, Mariner for that rogue feel of a climbing speed.
  7. Warlock/1. Hexblade! This will put the build just about fully online. General idea is to take down a single target in combat as quickly as possible. Hopefully be able to mark my target with Hex as well as hexblade's feature before or as combat starts, after that use quick toss as a bonus action to try and restrain the target. If successful double attack and then action surge, taking 4 attacks all at advantage w/sharpshooter to hit hard. Hexblade let's me crit on a 19, if it happens pump one of the BM maneuvers into it and double that die.
  8. Warlock/2. Dipping a couple more levels to become the sovereign of short rests, invocations are always nice, mainly here to pick up Devils sight for magic dark vision. Also getting expeditious retreat for Faux cunning action. (This character is a changling otherwise Mask of Many Faces is a must)
  9. Warlock/3. I don't think I care about pact boons here, but level 2 slots are nice. Pact of the Talisman because why not and get the feel of reliable talent a few times a day. Mainly here to get the darkness spell and become shadow and see out of it with devils sight, hard to say though as that will take hex offline
  10. Fightex. Going back full fighter and taking feats/ASI along the way. Mainly looking at Skill expert for expertise in rogue things, or maybe eyeing Quick-fingered(UA) for thieving shenanigans
I like the build, my main concern is that I'm definitely stretching how long it takes for the character to "come online", both rp and mechanically, almost like I'm going out of my way to not play a rogue, weird. Any advice is welcome. If not, hope you enjoy this Gambit-esque build!

2023.02.03 04:09 Trillion5 THE 96 'MASTER KEY' (Update 2023 Feb 3)

Because I haven't always been particularly professional in presenting core concepts of the 'Migrator Model', or in explaining the thinking behind the (pretty straightforward) math, thought I'd run a mini series of posts looking at key concepts and numbers. Please bear in mind I've singlehandedly had to invent a nomenclature to convey the core findings and concepts. Given the ratio signature (that's for another day) of Skara Brae or Angkor is 48, it's a shame it took me so long to look at 2 x 48.
The 96 'Master Key'
There are indeed quite a few 'keys' in the model - The Elsie Key (29), The Elsie Key Nine Step Method, the Skara-Angkor Key (58), the standard sector ratio key (52.2) and completed sector ratio key (52.8). By the time I started using 96, I needed a fresh term and as by far '96' is the most important, 'Master Key' seemed appropriate. Though gone over the separation of the fraction (derived from the opposite migratory momentums proposition) a lot recently, the 96 Master Key yields a new understanding of the 24.2-day spacing in relation to Sacco's 1574.4 orbit.
1574.4 / 96 = 16.4
- separation of the 0.4 fraction -
96 x 16 = 1536
96 x 0.4 = 38.4
96 x 24.2 = 2323.2
2323.2 - 787.2 (half orbit) = 1536
1536 - 1574.4 = -38.4
The 96 Master Key here shows a consistency for the proposition of the separation of the fraction - in basic terms, the idea being there is a movement each side of a 0.4 migratory spoke by a clean 24 days (opposite 24.2-day momentums meeting to form the 0.4 platform and then overshooting). The effect creates the 48.4-day spacing. The '16' separated from its 0.4 (from orbit / 96) can be seen as representing 1/3rd of the 48 migration either side of one of the 96 migratory spores (0.4). So 16 + 8 days one side, and 16 + 8 the other.
The circle geometry pointers show very strong connections to the 96 Master Key. The nearest complete number 360 (possibly a universally logical number to divide a circle with outside of the radian method) inside the orbit is 1440 (4 x 360), and the remainder yields the 'abstract' ellipse 134.4.
1440 + 96 = 1536
1440 - 96 = 1344 (10 x abstract ellipse)
And the abstract ellipse comes into sharp relief when applying the 96 Master Key to pi. before that though a quick look at the standard sector ratio key (52.2) and the completed sector ratio key (52.8). The sector ratio keys are inside the the 'dip signifiers' and the standard sector ratio key is inside the Skara-Angkor Signifier) - I'll cover those on another day too.
1574.4 + 96 = 1670.4
1670.4 / 52.2 (standard sector ratio key) = 32
A very important number in the model because of the two dips sharing the light signature presented in Kiefer's (et al.) paper on which is proposed a 928 orbit periodicity (they fall respectively on the sector 8 and sector 40 boundaries exactly - taking a boundary as a calendar day). The 928 days are divisible by one the template's 52 standard (29-day) sectors 32 times, and 3.2 is found the difference between 1/8th orbit and 8 x 24.2 (from which the proposed 492 signal followed).
1574.4 - 96 = 1478.4
1478.4 / 52.8 (completed sector ratio key) = 28
As a number, 28 marks the sector denomination (applying the most logical sequence) to the opposite pole of the fulcrum (that's for another day too). The fulcrum bisects the template, in 2017 it is marked by the end of sector 54 with the start of sector 1 on Aug 24. Following the line through to the opposite orbit, the opposite pole of the fulcrum falls on October 20 2019 marked by the end of sector 27 with the start of sector 28. Though here it gets (a little) complicated, because in the model the fulcrum advances every 2.5 orbits (the fulcrum cycle - for another day too). Applying the ratio signature method to π, along with divisions (in tenths and hundredths) of the 96 Master Key yields so much. For now a recap on the '3014.4' structure key - another 'key', sorry !
314 (π x 100 - remainder) x 9.6 = 3014.4
3014.4 + 134.4 (abstract ellipse) = 3148.8 (2 x the orbit 1574.4)
3014.4 - 134.4 = 2880 (2 x 1440)
The ratio signature method applied to π yields much more, but for now I hope this helps. The more abstract dip signifiers, the Skara-Angkor Signifier - I'll cover those soon.
